What to Wear with Oversized Graphic Tees this Summer: 11 Outfits to Copy

I love oversized graphic t-shirt outfits in summer as they can easily update your style in 2024.

That said, a graphic tee is all-year item that can fit easily into any capsule wardrobe, no matter the season or one’s personal style. That’s because they come in many sizes, colors, fits and prints.

And if you’re not into roomy or oversized graphic tees, you can always choose a snugger fitting t-shirt. Most, if not all outfit suggestions will still apply 🙂

With A Leopard Print sKirt

Band t-shirt outfits inclusive of leopard anything are a match made in edgy rock style heaven! And the best part is this combination is hard to mess up!

That said, I opted for a more toned-down leopard print skirt look for summer with an off-white tee and black graphic that ties in well with the colors of the skirt.

Pattern mixing is my thing, so some off-white and black stripes really made sense here, and kept thing neutral with off-white Puma sneakers.

This is an easy graphic t-shift outfit to transition into fall: just add some crew socks and top with a black denim or bomber jacket!

With a Denim Skirt

I’ve already written about my summer outfits with denim skirts, and graphic tees were a big outfit combination.

You can elevate the look with a black and gold graphic tee, heels and a small clutch bag. This mix is great for those who love a rock style.

Or, if you love color, you can have a little fun with a bolder printed tee and match in some colorful shoes, for a quirky look.

With a Tiered Maxi Skirt

Maxi skirts with graphic tees are great for summer and are a hot summer outfit pairing I really enjoy!

White tiered skirts have been everywhere for summer 2024, and makes for an easy canvas for a white-based tee and colorful print. I love my beige-ey/yellow skirt with a colorful t-shirt pop and my green sneakers to bring it all together.

Over a Satin Slip Dress (or skirt)

Slip skirts have been all the rage all summer, but since I only own slip dresses, I decided to layer on a graphic tee.

The satin sheen of the skirt is a stark contrast against the matte jersey t-shirt fabric, while the casual print plays down the more formal nature of the dress. It easily slides over the dress while you walk.

The easiest graphic tee with dress pairing is wearing a black band tee over a black slip dress. However, for summer, I opted for a light colored tee with green hues to somewhat tie into the dress.

With Jorts for a Tomboy Look

Jorts, the Gen Z term for jean shorts are another trending item this year. I’ve been wearing these black ones from GAP since last year!

I could make a plethora of graphic t-shirt and shorts outfit, because almost all of them match black or classic denim blues.

I added an off-white tee with a black graphic and black leather accessories.

With Black Bike Shorts

My go-to graphic tee outfit has been with black bike shorts, or yoga shorts (whatever you’d like to call them!).

A perfect summer or transitional outfit that takes me to and from daycare pick ups while working from home.

I feel this outfit works best with sneakers (I love wearing my green Adidas Gazelle outfits this way), but you could just as easily put on a pair of leather slides for a more laid-back look.

With Linen Shorts

Same graphic tee, two different styling possibilities with linen shorts. A heatwave outfit combo for sweaty girls and also featured on that post!

Both items are cooling and are a fun combo for a casual day out. You can tuck your loose t-shirt inside the front of the shorts, or leave it out. The choice is yours.

With Sweatshorts

A cosy overall look with a graphic tee in the summer is adding a pair of sweatshorts. The off white sneakers balance the off white t-shirt, while the colors in the tee bring out the short and accessories hues.

And yes, for cooler seasons, you can swap the short for sweatpants!

With Linen Cargo Pants

My absolute favorite oversized graphic t-shirt look of the summer are wearing my breezy olive green pants and band tee.

The overall oversized look is not for everyone, but I really enjoy it with my leopard print tote and summer slide sandals.

With Gingham FLeece PJ Pants

Getting into Gen Z dressing as a Gen X here, but bear with me! This makes a great combo for working from home. Comfy enough, but it won’t scare off the delivery person when he comes by.

You can even dress up the oversized graphic tee up (I mean, somewhat!) with a structured purse and cute colorful sneakers, but as it’s summer I opted for Tevas.

I hope this article has given you a better ideas of how to style a graphic t-shirt this summer. Although an oversized graphic look has a younger and possibly non as easy to wear feel, it’s not relegated to a younger age.

That said, if you prefer a less loose graphic tee approach to your outfits, you can choose a less ample style. Make sure there’s a bit of room, however, and avoid too-tight printed tees, which are usually not as flattering and a bit dated.
