Hot Weather Outfits for Summer to Look Stylish in the Heat!

If you’re a woman who overheats in the summer, you’re not alone!

Based on my heatwave outfit formulas, I’ve been playing around with breezier, cooling outfits to keep it as cool as possible during high summer.

How I’m Dressing This SUmmer as a Sweaty Gal

Although my my personal style is based in athleisure from Fall to Spring, I keep things a bit more breezy and feminine during the summer.

You’ll notice natural, light fabrics with prints to hide stains and sweat marks. I’ve replaced necklaces with earrings, so my neck feels the full breeze.

Most of the clothing doesn’t cling to heat-prone areas, and there are lots of dresses!

Linen Pelum Cami + Linen Pants

Perfect for days you want to be more covered up from the waist down. The cheetah print top will hide any sweat marks, while the fit won’t cling to sweaty areas.

Oversized Graphic Tee + Linen Shorts

The white tee from the current Spring 2024 Zara collection is printed only at the front, doesn’t snag at the armpits and allows the sun to reflect at the back. Linen shorts from GAP are wider leg and lets everything breathe!

The great thing about this pairing is that there are many similar oversize print tee outfits with shorts

Open Weave Top + Linen shorts

The top could be looser (I linked to a much better one!), but it’s 100% cotton with an open knit to keep me ventilated.

The linen shorts are self-explanatory! The top is old and clearly too small, but my linen shorts are new from GAP.

Breezy Printed Dresses

Love this mellow yellow dress with a print that hides it all. I can do without a bra with this ones and it’s way more comfortable for me in the summer.

A goodie from Old Navy from about 5 years ago. A similar one on Amazon linked under the image.

Love this little organic cotton dress (with pockets!) with from PACT apparel I bough 2 years ago. It has a light leopard print with a babydoll fit to keep my body cool.

Wearing cotton bike shorts as underwear to prevent thigh chafing and safeguarding my…parts.

This polkadot linen dress is new for season (reviewed in my Spring 2024 Gap Haul post). It doesn’t cling anywhere it shouldn’t and is a neutral off-white, with of course, the mandatory print to mask any undesired effects of the heat!

A loose tunic dress in a print is fabulous for summer. Thanks to the white print, it’s less hot than a full summer dress. This one is new from H&M.

Linen Halter + Light Slip-Skirt

Peplum for some breeze and 100% crisp linen tank you can wear as a halter, from Free People (last year). Great with my new (but already sold out) Old Navy floral skirt.

Not a natural material, but it’s very light, no thick elastic band and has a side slit. Fun print is a bonus, as it literally goes with everything like you can see in this post!

Bike Shorts + Printed Tank + Loose Shirt

OK, I could have worn this outfit without the shirt or simply worn it buttoned up and ditched the tank.

But it’s an excuse to mix 3 black/white prints, which are my favorite! I’ll go for a longer pair of bike shorts next time–these are the ones I usually wear under my dresses.

It was not until I photographed the outfit that I saw that it was not the best. This is why I always recommend to both my readers and clients to always save their outfits!

I hope I have! Dressing well during a heatwave can be difficult, but with the right pieces, you most definitely still look stylish. Even if you may have to make an outfit change (or two!) during the day!
